Next-level training Amazfit Balance 2 receives major firmware update 3.30.0.2

The Amazfit Balance 2 smartwatch has received a significant over-the-air (OTA) update, firmware version 3.30.0.2, bringing a host of new features and crucial optimizations focused on enhanced training, better accessibility, and smoother user interaction. Key additions include a new Ski Machine workout mode, integration with professional training platforms, improved volume control, and streamlined digital crown shortcuts.

Enhanced Training and Performance Metrics

The new firmware delivers valuable upgrades aimed directly at serious athletes and fitness enthusiasts, refining data tracking and external integration.

  • Professional Platform Integration: The Balance 2 now supports data synchronization with TrainingPeaks and Intervals.icu (available for non-China region accounts). This is a game-changer for structured training, allowing users to analyze their performance data within professional coaching ecosystems.

  • New Workout Mode: A dedicated Ski Machine workout mode has been added, providing more accurate metric tracking for indoor ski training.

  • Smarter Navigation: In-workout navigation receives significant enhancements, featuring improved route guidance, clearer waypoint and slope alerts, and voice guidance to make following outdoor routes more intuitive.

  • Tuned GPS Performance: GPS tracking is now smoother, with suggested routes reported to be "more natural."

  • BioCharge Optimization: The BioCharge energy level metric, which replaced the Readiness feature in a previous update, has been refined for more accurate scoring and energy consumption logic, leading to better recovery feedback.

  • Diving Clarity: The interface for recreational diving activity has been enhanced, improving clarity, vibration cues, multi-stop decompression logic, and the NDL (No-Decompression Limit) algorithm.

  • Treadmill Accuracy: Treadmill cadence accuracy has been enhanced, particularly for peak and average values.

User Experience and Accessibility Improvements

The update also focuses on refining the everyday use of the smartwatch through better controls and visual customization.

  • Digital Crown Shortcuts: The functionality of the rotating crown is expanded: turning it up now opens the Notification Center, and turning it down opens the Control Center, streamlining system access.

  • Finer Volume Control: Users can now set separate volume levels for media, alarms, and workouts, offering more control over audio alerts and playback.

  • Custom Tones: New sound settings allow users to customize tones for alarms, calls, and notifications.

  • Text Size Adjustment: A new text size setting has been added to system preferences, making the interface more accessible.

  • New Watch Faces: Additional always-on display (AOD) watch faces have been included for greater personalization.

The firmware update 3.30.0.2 is expected to roll out in phases to users globally. Ensure your Zepp app is updated to the latest version to install the new features and optimizations on your Amazfit Balance 2.
